When you say "shielded", do you mean a fair few ex-pros on MoTD haven't properly laid into him, or he's got proper shielding, courtesy of BBC hob knobs, similar to the bird in the arcade game Phoenix, when you pressed the 'shield' button?

Mind you, even that only lasted for a few seconds.

He’s not being shielded by anyone. Plenty had a pop yesterday - including motd - and loads had a pop when we got humped by Arsenal etc etc.

Maybe the media have an easier time looking at something objectively?
